Sami graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Sacred Heart University in 2023. While in the program she took an integrative therapies elective in which she explored the concepts of myofascial release techniques, Pilates, yoga, and mindfulness. Sami has been able to incorporate the knowledge derived from that course into daily treatment sessions for various orthopedic and neurological diagnoses with the goal of helping individuals achieve their functional goals.
Sami grew up in Connecticut playing soccer against local FCIAC high school teams. She sustained a sports related injury requiring surgical intervention, followed by months of physical therapy to rehab her back to a competitive level. It was during that time that she understood the impact physical therapy can have on a person's pain, functional limitations, and ability to reach their individual goals. She went on to play Division I Soccer at The College of William and Mary in her undergraduate years and enjoys playing pick-up soccer to this day.
Prior to joining the Elevate staff as a physical therapist, Sami worked for the company for 3 years as a physical therapy aide. She has returned to the staff now with the same motivation and energy level as she had before but with a deeper knowledge and skill set. Sami states she has a greater appreciation for providing quality patient care to each individual who walks through our clinic doors. In her free time, Sami enjoys hot yoga, reading at the beach, and spending time with her BIG family.
